We are setting up our own network of repeaters to be independent of the
greater mesh community in order to establish redundancy. Here are the current
operating and planned repeaters.
Currently operating repeaters:
Swamp Castle: near Stoyer Drive and West Heaney Circle
in Santee. This is a rooftop solar-powdered repeater, and provides a link
between central Santee and Mt. Helix.
EM-Meshcore-Repeater: Near the top of Carlton Hills
Blvd. This repeater is indoors covering the area immediately south of its
location. Although having a weak signal, being indoors, it provides a link
between central Santee and Mt. Helix.
Castle Anthrax: near the cloud water tower at 125 and
grossmont college. This repeater is currently indoors with limited range.
However, a rooftop solar-powered replacement is under construction. It will
be a backup for Mt. Helix (which we do not control).
It's Only a Model: Near the intersection of Rumson Drive
and Wethersfield Road in Santee. This repeater provides a
link between central Santee and West Santee, particularly the low area
southwest of West Hills High School.
Castle Guy de Loimbard: in
Fletcher Hills, near the intersection of Swallow Drive and Avenida Ladera.
This repeater covers El Cajon and Fletcher Hills. It's main job is to cover
a dead zone in south Fletcher Hills.
Planned repeaters:
Name TBD: slated for the Santee Building. Parts in
stock.
Name TBD: slated for the north side of Del Cerro Hill.
Name TBD: slated for the south side of Del Cerro Hill.
Name TBD: slated for the Zion building
Name TBD: slated for a location near the intersection
of Esplendente Boulevard and Escobar Drive in Tierrasanta.
Name TBD: slated for the Tierrasanta building (if
needed)
Castle Arrrgh: this is a test repeater that I put at
temporary locations for testing purposes.
Operating
and Planned repeaters. Light colored repeaters are planned, the purple
repeater is the Mt. Helux repeater which we do not control. Other
repeaters we do not control are not shown.
These repeaters will cover or provide redundancy to 90 to 95 percent of San
Diego East Stake and beyond.
We also may
locate several more repeaters for redundancy.
I am attempting to establish liaison with other stakes to expand the mesh.
